Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

1. Who is your service for?

A: Our service is for any valid OMMP (Oregon Medical Marijuana Program) patient and their Caregiver that has their card and proof of identity that needs meds for any reason, whether you are too sick to grow your own, you’re in between growers, you haven’t started receiving meds from your grower yet, or any other reason. Our service is meant to help get sick people the meds they need and fill a hole in the current OMMP for those unable to get the meds they need.

2. Is your service legal, how is it legal?

A: No sale/purchase/possession of Marijuana is legal according to federal law. State law and the OMMP law clearly states that sales/purchasing of marijuana is not permitted within the program, but that a grower may be reimbursed for costs associated with the production of marijuana by a patient. It does not state that it has to be the registered grower of the patient that get’s reimbursed, and it also doesn’t say anything about a med seeking patient reimbursing another patient with excess meds to reimburse their grower. This is a gray area and the wording is not clear, but it does allow for our service to be provided legally and within OMMP protection as it isn’t against the law for a patient seeking meds to reimburse another patient/grower with an excess quantity of meds for grow expenditures. You can read the entire law for yourself by visiting here and clicking “ORS 475.300 – 475.346 (pdf)”. We recommend all patients and participants of our service know the law for your protection and ours. We have legal backing and have been advised by some of the leading lawyers in the state when it comes to medical marijuana law, and we have complete confidence that we are within the boundaries of the OMMP law. Yours and our safety and confidentiality is our highest priority and we would not offer this service if we did not have complete confidence that what we are doing is legal for both you the patient, and us according to state law.

3. Why should I use Portland’s Best Meds instead of the other guys?

A: As stated before your security and confidentiality is our first priority, we do not keep records that could be seized by DEA or any other law enforcement agency unlike other services. We are also backed and advised by some of the leading lawyers in the state when it comes to medical marijuana. We are completely within the law and the only service available that can honestly say that, and we protect you and ourselves by being strict about wording and lingo used on our ads and during our interactions with you. We know the law and we make sure we’re within it always.

We provide some of the best meds available in the region with years of experience. Our meds are grown in the highest quality environment possible, with the best organic nutrients, supplements, lamps, and ballasts available on the market. Our meds are grown in a state of the art aeroponics/hydropnics hybrid system designed by Splatt Hydro that is unlike anything else on the market today. Our meds are flushed perfectly and dried and cured with methods that provide the best taste/smell/freshness. Our meds are always sticky and smooth, and never too dry, wet, or harsh. We also have a great supply thanks to perpetual gardening techniques and will always have meds when you need them. We have a collection of some of the best genetics available in the region with access to almost any strain available.

We are a delivery service which is extremely convenient for those don’t want to or are unable to drive to get meds, and we are disability friendly. We also offer PayPal as a payment option for those that have trouble getting to the bank/atm and have the ability to discretely process debit and credit cards for your convenience. Our service is also ideal for those that don’t want to be seen going into a shady place to get the meds they need. With over 30 user reviews we are also the most reputable service in the state and have 100′s of loyal patients that use and recommend our service to get the help they need. We are also the only service available on Sunday that we know of, which is a huge plus over the competition. With your security our first priority, complete compliance with state law and legal backing, the convenience and accessibility of a delivery service, convenient reimbursement options, and of course great meds, the real question is; why NOT use our service?

4. What do I need to do to get started and what should I expect from my experience with Portland’s Best Meds?

A: You can start out by calling us at (503)616-3852 or emailing deliveries@portlandsbestmeds.com your name and phone number to setup a delivery. We will then setup an initial appointment for the minimum reimbursement of $40 which includes reimbursement for 5 grams of meds. When we arrive we will show our OMMP card and photo ID and also check yours for verification. You will then be given an overview of how the service works and what to expect for delivery and reimbursement. You will then be able to look at the meds and decide what you would like to reimburse for. After that we will make sure to answer any questions you have, and you will be verified and able to call during our business hours for your next delivery hassle free .

5. How do I get my OMMP card?

A: If your primary care physician is unwilling to sign your OMMP application or you are afraid to ask, go to THCF, Oregon Green Free, MAMAS or another clinic with your chart notes (records) for the last 3 doctors’ visits for your condition (which includes but is not limited to; Chronic Severe Pain, Chronic Nausea, Chronic Muscle Spasms, Glaucoma, Cancer, AIDS/HIV, Arthritis, Asthma, Hepatitis C, Cachexia, Crohn’s disease, GERD, IBS, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Neuropathy, Seizure Disorders, Parkinson’s disease), and they will guide you. We use and prefer THCF for getting our OMMP paperwork signed by a doctor. You can visit their website here http://thc-foundation.com/oregon/.

6. Can I buy meds?

A: As the law currently stands no one may purchase or sell marijuana in Oregon and still be protected by OMMP law. The grower may be reimbursed by a patient for costs associated with growing, but not for time or effort which is how Portland’s Best Meds works. We will correct anyone that uses any terms referencing sales/buying of mmj, and refuse service to anyone that does not follow our simple rules.

7. Whose meds are you donating?

A: I am a grower/patient that grows my own meds for me and other members of my family and friends. They have signed contracts allowing me to disperse the excess meds how I see fit, which is to those unable to get or produce there own.

8. If I already have a grower can I still use your service?

A: Yes, our service is perfect for those that already have a grower but haven’t gotten meds yet. Our service does not interfere with your current arrangements for meds and is only an additional option for receiving the help you need.

9. If I am not an OMMP patient or am part of an out of state medical marijuana program, may I use your service?

A: Unfortunately for your protection and ours our service is only available to valid Oregon Medical Marijuana Program card holding patients with photo ID, we do not offer our service to anyone that is not an OMMP patient/caregiver.

10. What is the minimum and maximum amount of meds I can be donated or reimburse for through your service?

A: At this time for we have a minimum of $40 for reimbursement of 5 grams, and a maximum of 28 grams (under 1 ounce) for verified patients. For those coming from out of the Portland Metro area we can potentially deliver up to 2 ounces depending on availability, but you must be verified previously to qualify for larger than 1 oz.

11. I’m too sick to meet people; can someone get my meds for me?

A: Our service is only for valid OMMP patients, but we offer our service to valid OMMP caregivers that have their card for those patients too sick or unable to get meds, they must have their Caregivers card and valid Oregon ID.

12. Can you give clones/cuts/starts, or can I buy them from you?

A: At this time there is no way to be reimbursed for clones, cuts, or starts so we do not offer them. We recommend Oregon Green Free (OGF) for patients that need help getting started growing their own, you can visit their website by clicking http://www.oregongreenfree.net/.

13. Will you grow my meds for me?

A: At this time we have the maximum amount of cards you can have per grower, but we will potentially offer this as a service in the future for those that can’t grow their own meds and are willing to sign a contract.

14. Do I get added to a list, do you keep records, and what do you do to protect my confidentiality?

A: Unlike most dispensaries/delivery services/markets we do not keep records of our patients, you will not be added to any list, and no records will be kept other than to make it easier to service you in the future, and even that is optional. We are committed to your privacy and we will not give any records to anyone for any reason in order to protect your privacy and confidentiality. Our service differs from others thanks to no record keeping of our patients which protects you from persecution.

15. I am an OMMP patient/grower with excess meds/medibles/extracts etc, can you help me get reimbursed?

A: Previously we only worked with our own meds and other mmj products, but thanks to a huge demand for variety and quality we are now working with other high end OMMP patient/growers in the Portland metro area to help them get reimbursed for their excess meds. Our lawyers have advised us that the most legitimate way to work with other growers is to take meds on consignment and collect reimbursement for the grower and then give the grower the reimbursement once collected. We are looking for Portland’s Best Meds (top shelf only) for fair reimbursements, organic only (soil/soil-less/hydro) with no pesticides/fungicides or other harsh chemicals used during the flowering process. You must be a valid OMMP patient and grower, we will not take meds from OMMP growers that are not patients or do not have contracts with their patients allowing them (the grower) to distribute the excess meds as they see fit in order to stay completely within the boundaries of the OMMP. We prefer that all strains be tested from a reputable company such as Green Leaf Lab for potency, pesticides, and mold. For more information please contact us, thanks!

Really? Party Favors in your page tags? IMO you should remove that unless you want to explain it later… Just a thought. Otherwise, nice website.

    • admin says:

Haha, that was a tag for craigslist in case people were using code words. I guess I don’t need it here though so I went ahead and removed it. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!

  2. peter says:

    do you clone for sale

    • admin says:

We don’t sell anything mmj related as it’s against the law, but OMMP law does allow for a grower to be reimbursed for grow costs only. There is no way that I know of to be reimbursed for the cost to grow a clone so we don’t offer them at this time.

  3. arlene says:

how do you know if you have a grower who is legitimat with the law

    • PDXBestMeds says:

Do you mean if they have the correct number of plants, or if they are covered by OMMP? If you have them and the address they are growing at listed on your application and they have a copy of the application stamped by the state then they should be fine. As far as plant numbers go, it’s 6 mature (Over 12″ tall/wide or flowering) and 18 immature (less than 12″ tall/wide and non flowering) per patient they are growing for, so if they are growing for you and themselves or one other person then they would be allowed up to 12 mature and 36 immature plants. A grower can only grow for up to 4 people including themselves so the max they could have is 24/72, and you can have up to 4 growers per address I believe which would be 96/288. You could either ask to make sure, or if they allow you into the garden you can count them yourself.

Is the stamped OMMP application acceptable for use with your service? I haven’t received my actual card yet, but the stamped application makes me a legal member of the program per ORS 475.309(9).

Do you accept donations of excess medicine from other growers?

  13. goldy5710 says:

Question: I’m a cardholder and I take care of several people who have serious medical problems, by take care I mean I keep them in medical marijuana. I usually go through 1/4 lb.every 3-4 weeks. Can you keep me supplied for a reasonable donation? I’m interested in a variety of strains so possibly to better treat a variety of medical conditions. If you can could you please let me know what kind of donation you need for 4oz of quality buds, if you do that sort of volume. Thanks for your time, I’m definately going to try the 40 oz.of cooking oil(can you do it in olive oil?) Have a great day, hope to hear from you peace Goldy,

    • PDXBestMeds says:

Unfortunately we have an Oz max per patient per delivery as advised by our lawyers, we will make exceptions for those coming from out of town after the first delivery and they are verified, but only up to 2 oz. We have to keep meds in stock for other patients and prevent reselling of the meds which is why we have a maximum amount of 1-2 oz. Sorry for any convenience but give us a call and we may be able to work something out. Thanks.

  14. Rachel says:
